EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Studios is shifting its anticipated Eddie Redmayne-Felicity Jones pic The Aeronauts deeper into awards season, from October 25 to December 6, we can reveal.

In a potentially telling move about Amazon’s future direction, the company is also collapsing the intended theatrical window for the ballooning disaster film. Instead of a traditional theatrical release, including a previously agreed one-week Imax commitment, the film will get a short stateside theatrical release via Amazon, then will launch on Amazon Prime Video on December 20 in what we hear is a bid to maximize in-home holiday eyeballs.

British celebrities appear in a London Underground campaign promoting the benefits of struggling independent bookshops, in a new campaign created by Just a Card in partnership with Funding Circle.

Just a Card, a grassroots campaign that’s been around since 2015, vigirously champions the work of artists, designers, independent shops and businesses. The ‘Just a Book’ campaign, supported by peer-to-peer lender Funding Circle, brings together 15 of the country’s most famous faces to promote buying from standalone shops. It coincides with Just a Card day, taking place today (June 17th).

The celebrities appear on London Underground posters reading their favourite books, photographed by Charlie Gray, accompanied by the copy ‘what’s your just a book?’

Those taking part are Richard E. Grant, Felicity Jones, Hanif Kureishi, Michael Palin, Natalie Dormer, Dominic Cooper, Nathalie Emmanuel, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Hayley Mills, James Norton, David Oakes, Bruce Robinson, Greta Scacchi and Twiggy.

Sarah Hamilton, artist and founder of Just A Card, said: “Everyone loves independents and wants to support them, but often we don’t appreciate how vital each and every purchase is. Just a card, just a book, just a gift… they all add up and are critical to small business success.

“We’re challenging shoppers to think about where they spend their money, and show how much they value the independent shops that make our High Streets so special.”

Michael Palin said: “I support independent bookshops in the same way that I support independent thinking of any kind. I rejoice in what makes bookshops different. I like the quirkiness and personal touch you find in independent shops.”

Felicity Jones has married her boyfriend of three years, director Charles Guard. The couple tied the knot at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire this weekend in a low-key ceremony, but reportedly with a number of high-profile guests in attendance.

The actress’ representative confirmed the news to ET. Although the couple never gave any confirmation regarding their engagement, she was seen wearing a diamond ring on the red carpet in June of last year after reports surfaced in May that Guard had popped the question.

Jones and Guard have been dating since 2015 but have kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight with the actress being notoriously private about her personal life.

In pictures that have surfaced from guests and have been shared by fans on Instagram, Jones can be seen to be wearing a high-necked gown with sheer sleeves and button detail. E! News has also reported that Tom Hanks – with whom Jones starred in Inferno – and her The Theory of Everything co-star, Eddie Redmayne were both at the wedding.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

EXCLUSIVE: The Theory of Everything won Eddie Redmayne a Best Actor Oscar two years ago and Felicity Jones earned a well-deserved nomination. Now, the two actors are talking about reteaming on The Aeronauts for Amazon Studios.

Deadline hears that they are in talks now on a period action adventure based on true events about two 19th century hot air balloonists that would be directed and produced by Tom Harper (Peaky Blinders, War & Peace). Jones would play balloon pilot Amelia Wren and Redmayne would be scientist James Glaisher. In 1862, they embarked on an extraordinary journey to discover the secrets of the heavens. In the process, they fly higher in an open balloon than anyone ever has – either before or since. They make breathtaking discoveries, but as they ascend to the highest reaches of the atmosphere, they are forced into an epic fight for survival.

The project is being produced by Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, who are coming off the weekend sleeper hit Wonder. The script is by Jack Thorne, who wrote the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, based on a J.K. Rowling story. He’s also adapted Philip Pullman’s fantasy novel trilogy His Dark Materials for BBC One. Thorne also was a writer on Wonder.

The project will shoot in London with a Spring 2018 start.
